New dinosaur exhibition hall opens

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of International Museum Day, a new exhibition hall ‘Origin and Evolution of Living Creatures on Earth’ was opened in the Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs on May 17.
324 sq.m exhibition hall shows origin of ancient animals, plants and their evolution as well as continental drift in geological time scale of 12 periods in 5 eras, in other words in chronological order.
Besides real skeleton of dinosaurs and others, life environment of that time is displayed in the hall with panorama, diorama and models.

“The new hall has more than 200 exhibits representing ancient animals and plants in eras including Mesozoic and Paleozoic. The Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs has more than 1500 exhibits. We are organizing an education campaign ‘Little Paleontologist’ with aims to have citizens who are interested in science and to prepare scientists who study ancient animals and plants,” Director of the Museum N.Javzmaa said.
By double count, 80,000 viewers visited the Museum this year and of which 50,000 were children.
