Conch Shell Trumpet ornamented with silver

Khovd /MONTSAME/ Most of the exhibits and collections of the Museum of Khovd aimag belong to ethnic and religious categories. A unique one of those exhibits is a conch shell trumpet ornamented with silver that has been displayed to the public in the museum’s religious section since 2018.
The conch shell is encased in engraved silver beautifully set with red and green gemstones.
The silver ornament is decorated with motifs of dragon, pig, and horse. The religious musical instrument weighs 930 grams. Its creator is currently unknown. Nonetheless, experts consider it an important exhibit dating back to the 19th century.
