Ulaanbaatar, July 27,
2023 /MONTSAME/. The Bogd Khaan Palace
Museum is currently under renovation, with 50-percent completion.
The restoration is planned to be finished within this year. The
Government of Mongolia is diligently pursuing the objective of sustainable
preservation and restoration of historical, cultural, and heritage monuments
that hold significant importance in Mongolia's history.
The Bogd Khan Palace Museum stands as Mongolia's oldest and most
esteemed historical and cultural landmark, displaying a wealth of heritage and
history. Established during the period from 1893 to 1903, the museum is home to
an exceptional and unmatched array of valuable artifacts representing the
Mongolian monarchy, religion, history, art, and culture spanning the 17th to
the 20th centuries.
The last comprehensive restoration was conducted in 1961-1962, and while there have been minor-scale restorations over the past 60 years, none have been as extensive and all-encompassing as the current one.
