Mongolia’s Participation in OSCE’s Activities Appreciated

Ulaanbaatar, August 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu during the “Helsinki+50 Conference: Respecting the Legacy, Preparing for the Future.”

 

Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh reaffirmed Mongolia’s support for the OSCE’s main principles and activities, and expressed confidence that the anniversary event will effectively contribute to developing the organization’s activities in line with new challenges of the modern age and strengthening the OSCE’s reputation. The Minister noted that Mongolia’s accession as a member of the OSCE aligns with Mongolia’s principles for security and foreign policies and is significant in strengthening cooperation and political trust with third neighbor countries within the framework of regional security.

 

Secretary General of the OSCE Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu appreciated Mongolia’s active participation in the OSCE’s activities, noting its contributions to regional security cooperation in enhancing women’s participation in society and combating terrorism.

 

Mongolia became the fifth Asian partner country of the OSCE during the 12th Ministerial Council meeting in December 2004, and became the 57th member of the OSCE in November 2012. For Mongolia, the OSCE plays a valuable role in strengthening democratic institutions, safeguarding human rights and freedom of the press, advancing good governance, and enhancing connectivity and economic cooperation with European and Central Asian countries.
