Mongolian Cadet Judokas Secure Two Bronze Medals at Asian Championships

Ulaanbaatar, September 12, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Asian Cadets and Junior Judo Championships 2025 are underway in Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 11 to 14, 2025.
A total of 17 athletes are
competing against 196 judokas from 21 countries in the cadet category, under
the guidance of coaches G. Bat-Erdene and E. Namuuntsetseg from the Mongolian
Judo Academy.
On the opening day, Mongolia
secured two bronze medals out of eight weight categories contested.
In the boys’ 60 kg category,
Enkhtur Jamiyan began with a victory over the Kyrgyz judoka but was defeated by
Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals. He rebounded in the repechage round, defeating
Ko Po-Erh of Taiwan and Yasin Parhizkar of Iran to claim the bronze medal.
In the boys’ 66 kg category,
Naranzun Enkhbat secured an opening win against India before falling to
Kazakhstan. He then advanced through the repechage bracket, overcoming judokas
from Indonesia and Kuwait in succession to earn a spot on the podium.
As the cadet weight categories
continue, four Mongolian athletes have advanced to the semifinals:
- Girls’ 57 kg – Otgonnyam Tumenjargal
- Girls’ 63 kg – Anudari Enkhtaivan
- Boys’ 81 kg – Mungundal Batjargal
- Boys’ +90 kg – Mungunbagana Galsandamba
Additionally, four more athletes
are preparing to enter the repechage bracket for a chance at a bronze medal.
The championship will transition to the junior category over the next two days.
