Paris street to be established in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of the capital city S.Amarsaikhan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Mongolia Philippe Merlin on June 18.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the establishment of Paris street in Ulaanbaatar and the outcomes of the joint projects. Citizens’ Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar sent a letter to the Administration of Paris for permission to establish Paris street in Ulaanbaatar. In the response, Mayor of Paris expressed consent for the establishment of the French-style street, noted Ambassador Philippe Merlin at the meeting.
During his visit to Paris in 2018, Governor S.Amarsaikhan agreed with the officials to cooperate on urban planning. In this regard, the Urban Planning Research Institute was established. Governor mentioned about the plan to collaborate with urban planning specialists of Paris and requested to create joint working group on the establishment of Paris street in Ulaanbaatar, exchanging views on the area of establishment and the design.
Ambassador Philippe Merlin agreed to report on the staff of the working group in an official letter and commence research on the street construction.
