Agriculture Minister receives Romanian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Ch.Ulaan received  Non-resident Ambassador of Romania to Mongolia Basil Vasilica Constantinescu on July 5.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Basil Constantinescu expressed willingness to affirm the previous dialogue and continue cooperation. “Romania is the largest organic food producer and the leading exporter of sunflower and wheat in Europe. New management approaches and technologies are being introduced in the agricultural sector. It is possible to train specialists and exchange experience in the agricultural sector, especially in the field of food manufacturing, biotechnology, agrotourism and sustainable development,” he noted. Expressing interest in mutually beneficial cooperation in the veterinary sector, the Ambassador informed about his plan to send an expert team to Mongolia in September and October.

Minister Ch.Ulaan expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the effort to develop agricultural sectors of the two countries. Accepting the proposal, Agriculture Minister pledged to support the cooperation between professional organizations of the two countries. 

In the future, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in reducing soil degradation and improving fertility.
