Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The UN General Assembly adopted the World Programme of Action for Youth in 1995 and declared the August 12 International Youth Day. The Programme encourages youth around the world to organize activities to raise awareness about the situation of youth in their country.

This year's theme for Youth Day is ‘Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages’, emphasizing the need for generations to work together in unity and cooperation in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and leave no one behind.

Mongolia has been officially celebrating Youth Day since 2003, and every year from August 12 to September 25, Youth Development Campaign is organized throughout the country. The opening of this year's month-long campaign was held at the UN House in Ulaanbaatar today.

Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection S.Zulpkhar introduced the plan to support youth employment within the framework of the campaign, taking into account the differences in age and employment service demand and needs, and urged the youth to actively participate in the campaign.
