Ulaanbaatar, February 8, 2024 /MONTSAME/. On February 8, 2024, Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav paid a courtesy call on President of the Federal Republic of Germany H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is on a State Visit to Mongolia. 


Chairman Zandanshatar Gombojav expressed gratitude to the German side and experts for their steadfast support in helping Mongolia overcome the challenges of its transition to democracy, including building a parliamentary system and developing a new Constitution. Chairman Zandanshatar also noted the appreciation of the people of Mongolia for the elevation of Mongolia-Germany relations to a Strategic Partnership. 


Highlighting the historical significance of the State Visit of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Mongolia during the current geopolitical tensions facing the world, the Chairman noted that the Visit resulted in important decisions that will strengthen the successes and achievements of the past five decades of bilateral relations and cooperation, and further enrich the Mongolia-Germany cooperation for the next 50 years with tangible outcomes. 


Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed gratitude to the people of Mongolia for their warm and hospitable welcome. The Head of State of Germany also stressed the crucial role of the Ambassadors of Mongolia and Germany in successfully celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. 


The two sides expressed commitments to actively working towards translating the decisions reached during the State Visit into reality. Also, the two parties emphasized that relations between Mongolia and Germany have been consistently expanding in politics, economy, trade, investment, culture, education, science, road transport, archeology, humanity, and other sectors. Chairman of Parliament Zandanshatar Gombojav and Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier concurred that the two countries have many untapped avenues for further enriching the bilateral cooperation with economic content.
