President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa Meets President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

Ulaanbaatar, July 5, 2024 /MONTSAME/. On the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on July 4, 2024.


At the outset of the meeting, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa emphasized that Mongolia-Kazakhstan traditionally friendly relations and cooperation have expanded, high and the highest level dialogues have regularized, and activities of the Mongolia-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission have intensified in recent years.


The two Heads of State agreed to reciprocate high and the highest-level visits, increase trade turnover and develop cooperation between the two countries in key areas such as tourism, agriculture, light industry, transport, and logistics as part of strengthening friendly relations between Mongolia and Kazakhstan and enriching mutually beneficial cooperation with economic content.


The two sides agreed to coordinate the “One Billion Trees” National Campaign of Mongolia with the “Two Billion Trees” project of Kazakhstan and exchange best practices to protect the environment through mutual exchange of experience and bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the fight against climate change.                


President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed sincere gratitude to the Government and people of Mongolia for their wholehearted support and assistance during the large-scale floods in Kazakhstan, which caused significant material damage. Also, President of Kazakhstan expressed commitment to conduct high-level reciprocal visits and broadening traditionally friendly relations between the two countries in all sectors.
