Ulaanbaatar, July 30, 2024 /MONTSAME/. People's Artist of Mongolia Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Recipient of the "Best International Opera Baritone" Award, is set to perform duets with Plácido Domingo, a legendary figure in the world of classical music, for the first time in Mongolia.

“Centennial Celebration”, an opera concert of global classical music stars will be held at the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet on August 3, 2024, at 4:00 PM and will be broadcast live at Sukhbaatar Square for the public.

Partners of APU Joint Stock Company from over 20 countries, including technology and equipment suppliers, trade partners, and representatives from international financial institutions will attend APU Company's Centennial Celebration. To mark this historical anniversary, the event will feature Plácido Domingo, one of the famed “Three Tenors,” an eclectic artist who has performed over 150 roles and won 12 Grammy Awards. Joining him will be People's Artist of Mongolia Amartuvshin Enkhbat, a baritone whose voice has elevated Mongolia’s reputation on the world stage, along with rising international soprano Nina Minasyan, renowned tenor Fabio Sartori from La Scala, and one of the leading young conductors Gaetano Lo Coco.

Regarding the concert, the legendary singer Plácido Domingo said, “In my 65 years of dedication to opera, this is my first time performing in Mongolia, and I accepted the invitation with great respect. Particularly, E. Amartuvshin, who won first place in the 2012 Plácido Domingo's Operalia, the World Opera Competition, is an extraordinarily talented artist. I am delighted to share the stage with him and experience his vocal technique and skill.”

People's Artist E. Amartuvshin remarked, “My dream of bringing the living legend Plácido Domingo to my homeland has come true. I hope he experiences the richness of Mongolian national art and culture and the beauty of our country.”

This unique concert, which will be a remarkable event in the history of Mongolian and world classical music, will feature Plácido Domingo performing pieces such as “Nemico della Patria” and “Perfidi! ... Pietà, rispetto, amore” while People's Artist of Mongolia E. Amartuvshin will sing “Bizet Toreador, Carmen” and “No vecchio t’inganni... Sì, vendetta, Rigoletto.”
