October sees unemployment rate decline
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A number of unemployed reached 31.5 thousand late October of 2015, showing a 2.7 thousand people or 7.8% decrease against the previous year, and a 0.4 thousand people or 1.4% increase against the previous month. Almost 18 thousand people or 56.2% of the total unemployed were women.
By a labor force survey, 628.7 thousand people or 52.6% of 1,195.4 thousand, as economically active population aged 15 and over, are male, while 566.7 thousand people or 47.4% of them are women, at national level in the 3rd quarter of 2015.
The survey also says that 39.4 thousand or 52.1% out of the unemployed 75.7 are male, while 36.3 thousand or 47.9% of them are women, in the same period.
In the third quarter of this year, unemployment rate was 6.3% nationwide, showing a decline by 0.1 points and 1.5 points against the previous year and previous quarter, respectively.
