Mongolian delegates attend session of UN Commission on the Status of Women

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian delegates led by S.Mungunchimeg, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare are participating in the 61st session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW61), which is being held from March 13 to 24 in New York. This session is being organized under the theme ”Women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work”. 

Deputy Minister S.Mungunchimeg delivered speech at a general discussion on “Review of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action of the Fourth World Conference on Women" and the outcome of the twenty-third special session of the UN General Assembly.

She highlighted that Mongolia has been taking continuous measures and policies on women’s empowerment and ensuring gender equality, including the empowerment of their economic and employment opportunities. In the scope of the session, the Mongolian delegates gave remarks at a ministerial segment: roundtable on the priority theme “Gender pay gap in the public and private sectors” and a high-level discussion on “Technology changing the world of work: how can technology and innovation be harnessed to accelerate women’s economic empowerment?”.
