Social Insurance fund revenue increased by MNT 167.3 billion

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today on July 18, The National Statistics Office presented statistics for social and economic sector of Mongolia as of the first half of 2017.

A total of 35.3 thousand mothers gave birth to 35.5 thousand children in the first half of this year. The number of mothers was reduced by 3.4 thousand compared to last year’s mean time, while the number of newborns was reduced by 3.3 thousand.

Also, a total of 40.4 thousand people were looking for a job and 29.1 thousand of them were unemployed, while 11.3 thousand people were employed but were looking for a different job. The registered unemployed fell by 3.7 thousand individuals compared to the same period of the previous year. However, around 58.7 percent of the total registered unemployed are around the age of 15 to 34. And 45.3 percent of the unemployed have high school education, 29.2 percent have degrees and 7 percent have professional education.
 
According to the General Health and Social Insurance Agency, the social insurance fund revenue has reached MNT 1 trillion in the first half of 2017, which is MNT 167.3 billion higher than the same period of last year. Pension and health insurance funds’ revenue had main effect in the growth. Furthermore, the social insurance fund expenditure has been increased by MNT 115.2 billion, to MNT 918.1 billion. This is because of the MNT 75.9 billion worth of allowance granted to 622.1 thousand children up to the age of 18.
 
National infant mortality rate was 528 and under-five mortality rate was 625 in the first half of 2017. The infant mortality rate was 282 less than last year, while under-five morality rate was 34.4 percent less by 328.
 
Also, one case of HIV/AIDS was reported in Ulaanbaatar in June. With this, the total case of HIV/AIDS has reached 238.

A total of 13 thousand crimes cases have been reported in the first half, which was reduced by 13.3 percent with 2 thousand cases than last year’s same period. The reported crimes against the right of ownership were reduced by 1435 cases, crimes against human life and health by 473 and crimes against the safety of the traffic by 105, effectively reducing the total number of crimes. Also, the damages caused by the crimes equaled MNT 230.1 billion in the first half of 2017 and MNT 62.6 billion have been compensated.
