Mongolia observes Father’s Day today

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, August 8 is observed as Father’s Day in Mongolia.
Mongolian Men’s Association, formed in 2003, initiated the day in 2005 with an intention to raise awareness on the social role and family responsibilities of fathers. As such, Mongolia marks its 12th Father’s Day today.
Family and Child Development Division of the capital city in cooperation with the Mongolian Men’s Association is celebrating the 2017 Father’s Day under the slogan ‘Support to Fathers’ Participation’.
In scope of Father’s Day, several activities including contest among fathers, seminar on father-child relationship and workshops are being held in the country.
Mongolia became the 14th country to mark Father’s Day which is now observed in about 20 countries around the world.
