Workshop on waste management being held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A workshop entitled 'Law on waste management and reform' for civil servants has started at the Fresh Water Resources and Natural Conservation Center, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism published Wednesday.
Organized by the Ministry, the workshop covered wide range of topics including law on waste management reform, further actions to manage disposals, and rights and accountability of organizations. Participants have presented reports about waste management, disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, its recycling process, transportation and production.
A draft new wording of the law on waste management was approved by the State Great Khural on May 12, 2017. The law’s objectives are to give people knowledge about making waste as resource, to carry out appropriate waste management and to reduce harmful effects on human health.
