The one-stop service center (OSSC) was launched for survivors of violence with funding of MNT 80 million from the provincial budget. With the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), furniture and equipment worth over MNT 100 million have been installed at the center within the framework of the "Combating gender-based violence in Mongolia" (CGBV) project jointly implemented by the Government of Mongolia and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Deputy Governor of Uvurkhangai province O.Batjargal said, “Although a comfortable shelter that meets standards and requirements is being put into operation, our goal is to reduce the number of people receiving its services. To do this, we must promote the negative impact of domestic violence, conduct a study on regular victims of abuse, and find the reasons that are causing it.”

At the opening ceremony, UNFPA Head of Office in Mongolia, Kaori Ishikawa said, “A step-by-step system that solves the issues of domestic violence is crucial. Despite being caused by various factors, gender inequality has been found to be the root cause of domestic violence. Although it takes a long period of time to solve this issue, we have successfully created a mechanism that reaches out to survivors of violence in the past 4 years.”

OSSCs provide survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), especially domestic violence, with services to help them escape and heal from violent situations. Aside from accommodations, OSSC also provides health, psychological, legal, counselling and protection services.

It is the 9th OSSC for survivors of violence established in Mongolia under the CGBV project.
