Children’s Fund re-established

On December 30, the Cabinet approved to re-establish Children’s Fund, designed for financing projects to re-build child and youth development places, such as Children’s Library, Children’s Theatre and cultural and sports facilities. The government of Mongolia will allocate funding of MNT 10 billion for the fund, said Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa at the cabinet’s Wednesday meeting.
On the evening of December 30, a fundraising event to collect financial contributions for the fund was livestreamed on TV channels, joined by Minister of Culture S.Chuluun, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city D.Sumiyabazar, public figures and artists. The event raised more than MNT 2 billion.
