Vaccination of target group at 94 percent in Selenge aimag

May 14, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene became acquainted with the current
situation at the Altanbulag border checkpoint as well as the vaccination works
being carried out at the General Hospital of Selenge aimag.
Currently operating continuously for 24 hours, Altanbulag
border checkpoint conducts inspections and allows the entry of 1,500-2,000
passengers and 500-700 vehicles per day. During the time of peak traffic in the
summer, an average of 2,500-3,000 passengers and 800-1,000 vehicles are allowed
entry.
Per the Government resolution on freight and vehicle movement
made on February 17, freight vehicles carrying all types of goods and products
are being allowed entry. However, foreign freight drivers are dropping off
their trailers at the clearance and inspection zone for pickup by domestic
freight forwarders.
In Selenge aimag, 94.2 percent of the target group have been
involved in the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines, with 15,000 citizens fully
vaccinated. Vaccinations are projected to be completed by June 10. This will be
one of the deciding factors for the opening of borders and resumption of
regular operations at border checkpoints.
In the framework of countermeasures being taken against the
COVID-19 pandemic, the healthcare sector has been financed with a total of MNT
1.6 billion so far.
