Global Green Growth Institute to provide support in sourcing necessary funding for green city

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 27, Head of the Satellite City and Special Economic Zone Development Agency of the Capital City B.Mendsaikhan held a working meeting with Country Representative for Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Annaka Peterson. 

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on establishing satellite cities and a special economic zone in Ulaanbaatar city, and discussed green urban planning models.

Ms. Annaka Peterson said, “One of the main strategic operations of Global Green Growth Institute is to provide support for the development of green cities and industries. As the works being planned to be carried out are in line with the strategy, our organization will cooperate and provide support in sourcing the necessary financing.”

The Global Green Growth Institute has reflected studying possible opportunities for cooperation in establishing satellite cities and special economic zones in the capital city in its action plan for 2023-2024 as well as the five-year strategy for 2022-2026.

The two sides agreed to create correlation between projects in the framework of the 2030 Strategy of the organization, reported the Satellite City and Special Economic Zone Development Agency of the Capital City.
