Darkhan-Uul, April 6, 2023 /MONTSAME/.  Darkhan-Uul Aimag is taking an active role in promoting environmental conservation and sustainability through its participation in the "One Billion Trees" National Campaign and "Green Darkhan" Subprogram. As part of its efforts to promote reforestation and improve the environment, the Aimag launched an initiative to encourage children to plant seedlings and saplings.

Through this initiative, children are provided with the opportunity to learn about the importance of environmental conservation and to take an active role in caring for the environment. By planting seedlings and saplings, children are making their contribution to the National Campaign while helping create a greener and healthier province.

Children from eleven kindergartens have planted 1,500 saplings of petunias, sunflowers, zinnias, and marigolds and donated them to the Urban Development Office of Darkhan-Uul Aimag. Officials expressed their gratitude to the children and teachers, reporting that 90 percent of the seedlings the children planted are viable and were planted correctly.

The initiative not only benefits the environment of the Aimag but also provides children with a hands-on learning experience that fosters a sense of environmental responsibility and stewardship. By instilling these values in young people, the Darkhan-Uul  Aimag aims to create a more sustainable future for all.
