National Emergency Management Agency: No Damage Recorded Due to 4.7-Magnitude Earthquake

Ulaanbaatar, May 9, 2025 /MONTSAME/. A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck 109 km northwest of the center of Umnudelger soum of Khentii aimag, 79 km west of the center of Batshireet soum, and 76 km northeast of the center of Mungunmort soum of Tuv aimag at 22:23 on May 08, 2025.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) of Mongolia reported that the tremors of the earthquake were felt by citizens, but no damage was recorded. The tremors of this earthquake were felt in the Baganuur, Bayanzurkh, Songinokhairkhan, Chingeltei, Bayangol, and Sukhbaatar districts of the Capital City.
In the
three months since January 2025, 12 earthquakes with a magnitude of 3.5-5.1
were recorded in Mongolia.
