20th-Century famous paintings of Mongolia moved to National Modern Art Gallery

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In 1986, 17 of the best Mongolian art works by prominent Mongolian artists were relocated from the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum to the Ikh Tenger Complex located in the Bogd Khan Mountain for the high-level reception and residence for officials and delegates. 


After 34 years, the 17 famous paintings that had been placed at the President’s Winter Palace in the Ikh Tenger Complex have been moved to the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery, located in the center of Ulaanbaatar city for public view. 


A special exhibition, showcasing the 17 masterpieces, is on display from October 28 to November 8. The masterpieces include ‘Waterfall’ (1962) by A.Sengetsokhio, ‘Gobi of the Sharga’ painting (1966) by famous landscape painter M.Tsemberldorj, ‘Tsetserleg city’ by S.Rentsen, ‘Naadam’ by U.Yadamsuren, ‘Land’ (1976) by the first professional painter in Mongolia L.Gavaa, and ‘One Day of the Countryside’ (1972) by Ts.Davaakhuu,
