Mongolian Athletes Became Champions at the World Masters Powerlifting Championships

Ulaanbaatar, October 14, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The IPF World Masters Powerlifting Championships took place in Sun City, South Africa, on October 5-13, 2024, and five Mongolian athletes participated successfully in the competition.


In the men’s M4 66 kg category, Perenlei Shagdar grabbed the gold medal on all three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift, becoming the World Champion by overall points.


Also, in the men’s M2 74 kg category, Honored Athlete of Mongolia Enkhbat Sanduijav lifted 265 kg in the squat to earn gold, pressed 157.5 kg in the bench press for another gold, and lifted 245 kg in the deadlift to secure a silver medal, making him the World Champion by overall score as well. In the M1 category at 74 kg, Batbileg Otgonsuren won the overall bronze medal after getting bronze in all the following, 230 kg in squat, 132.5 kg in bench press, and 230 kg in deadlift.

 

In the M2 category at 105 kg, Ariunjargal Luvsanchultem lifted 305 kg in the squat to earn gold, lifted 280 kg in the deadlift to secure a silver medal, and won a bronze medal. Furthermore, Uurtsaikh Tsolmon, competing in the M2 category at +120 kg, won a silver by lifting 190 kg in the bench press, and a bronze medal by lifting 200 kg in the deadlift.
