Mongolian Cyclists Competing in the Asian Mountain Bike Championships

Ulaanbaatar, April 25, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2025 Asian Mountain Bike Championship kicked off in Guizhou, the People’s Republic of China, on April 24, 2025.

 

The Mongolian team consists of four cyclists, with M. Battuul, E. Bayarbat, and G. Tuvshinbaatar from the "Downhill Mongolia" Club competing in the senior elite division, while G. Enkhbold will race in the junior division. The Mongolian mountain bikers are led by B. Otgondavaa, a Board Member of the Mongolian Cycling Association and Head of the "Downhill Mongolia" Club.


The "Downhill Mongolia" Club, headed by B. Otgondavaa, was instrumental in promoting and developing this thrilling extreme sport in Mongolia and has been sending cyclists to the Asian Championships regularly. This is the sixth time since 2020 that the Mongolian mountain bikers have competed at the Asian Championships. 


In 2022, G. Chinguun earned the bronze medal in the Asian Championship held in the Republic of Korea, and G. Tuvshinbaatar also won the bronze medal in the Republic of India. G. Chinguun's medal was the first mountain bike medal of Mongolia from international championships. Since 2018, Mongolian mountain bikers have been organizing national championships, and in 2020, they successfully participated in the Asian Championships in Thailand for the first time.
