67.7 million livestock counted nationwide to winter
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A nationwide livestock census performed last August found that there were around 84.2 million livestock animals nationwide, including 541.5 thousand camels, 4.5 million horses, 5.4 million cattle, 39.6 million sheep and 34.5 million goats. The census concluded by gathering data from each local administrative unit showed that some 67.7 million livestock will spend the winter and 16.5 million livestock will be used for meat preparation.

MNT 3.9 billion spent for gobi animals of Mongolia
An event ‘Great Gobi 6’ annually takes place at the initiative of the WWF Mongolia to protect gobi wild animals of Mongolia, wild bactrian camel, gobi bear, takhi or wild horse, khulan or wild Ass, and saiga antelope, and goitered gazelle (Great Gobi 6) and their home - the Gobi ecosystems as well as to broadly involve governmental and non-governmental organizations and the local communities in the conservation activities.

Science and technological park of livestock industry to be established
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its meeting held on October 9, the Cabinet resolved to establish a national scientific, industrial and technological park of livestock husbandry and to formulate technical and economic feasibility study through public private partnership. The establishment of the park is designed for supporting herders and cooperatives in the livestock industry, increasing their incomes and provide them with jobs.

Additional financing agreement for oil refinery signed
Today, Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar and General Manager of Exim Bank of the Republic of India Shri Saroj Khuntia signed an agreement on soft loan of additional financing of USD 236 million, which will be granted to oil refinery establishment project in Mongolia.

Mongolia branch of the Southeast Asian region of the National Advisory Council for a Peaceful and Democratic Unification under the President of the Republic of Korea with a support from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ulaanbaatar hosted an international academic conference under the theme “Unity of the Korean Peninsula - 2019” on October 8 in Ulaanbaatar city.

Infrastructure development works of oil refinery completed
Construction works of 27 km railroad branch line to be used for transporting equipment and devices and goods from Sainshand railway station to oil refinery, 17 km long auto road with a heavy load carrying capacity and 110 kWt power transmission line have been completed within scheduled period and handed over to the State Commission on October 8.

Photo exhibition in pedestrian tunnel in city center unveils life in UB
A pedestrian tunnel located in the Ulaanbaatar city center known as “Khunsnii 20 tunnel” has been renovated by public-private partnership of Elite Construction LLC and Governor's office of the Capital city. The redevelopment work has been performed from April 25 to June 25 of this year in accordance with an order of Ulaanbaatar city mayor S.Amarsaikhan with an aim to improve the living environment of the residents and cater for pedestrian safety needs.

Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces newly appointed
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga forwarded a proposal on the appointment of Dovchinsurengyn Ganzorig to the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces to the State Great Khural. The proposal was discussed at a plenary session of the Parliament and backed by a vote of 76.9 percent.
