Athletes of “Aldar” sports club to participate in Military World Games

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony took place on Wednesday to see off Mongolian athletes to will take part in the 6th Military World Games that will run on October 2-11 in Mungyeong, South Korea.Some 70 athletes from the “Aldar” sports club at the Armed Forces will compete in eight events--archery, boxing, shooting, freestyle wrestling, judo, athletics, taekwondo and cycling.

Present at the ceremony were A.Battor, the Vice Minister of Defense; Major-General B.Bayarmagnai, the Deputy Head of the General Headquarters of Mongolian Armed Forces; Colonel G.Osokhbayar, head of the “Aldar” sports club; and other officials.

The Military World Games is a multi-sport event for military sportspeople, organized by the International Military Sports Council (CISM). The Games have been held since 1995, although championships for separate sports had been held for some years.
