President meets Ambassador of India
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday Somnath Ghosh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia in connection with completion of the latter’s diplomatic mission here.
Expressing the satisfaction with his diplomatic duty in Mongolia, the Ambassador said he will continue taking initiatives for fostering bilateral relations and cooperation.
Mongolia and India have long historical and cultural ties, noted Elbegdorj and thanked the Ambassador for his significant contribution to elevating the relations up to a new level. He added that bilateral relations and cooperation have been progressing especially in the sectors of economy, investment, education, IT, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism and defense.
In turn, the Ambassador Ghosh noted that the two countries organize annual meetings of joint working groups and exchange officials of the frontier service and the National Security Councils thanks to expanding defense cooperation.
Indian side is paying attention to drawing investments of the leading Indian companies to Mongolia and to developing the cooperation in IT, infrastructure, mining and economic spheres. He believes that the commercial and economic cooperation would broaden further.
