Feasibility study to be conducted on Kherlen river flow adjustment

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A technical and economic feasibility study will be made on ‘Flow Adjustment in Kherlen River’ project.

During its regular meeting on August 17, Thursday, the Cabinet assigned Ts.Dashdorj, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry and D.Oyunkhorol, Minister of Environment and Tourism to take urgent measures to conduct technical and economic feasibility study and environment impact evaluation on ‘Flow Adjustment in Kherlen River’ project. Finance Minister B.Choijilsuren was tasked to solve the finance.

If the study concludes that the flow adjustment project is feasible, water supply issues for infrastructure development project in South Gobi and other projects will be solved, and furthermore, it will create conditions to maintain stability of flow in the river.
