‘Mining Mongolia-2018’ highlights non-ferrous metals

The expo is co-organized by Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry, Mineral Resources and the Petroleum Authority of Mongolia, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and 'Oyu Tolgoi', 'Minex Mongolia', 'Erdenes Mongol' companies. 130 companies from 20 countries including Mongolia, Russia, China, Canada, Czech Republic, USA, Germany are participating in the expo and introducing their products and services. More than 2000 representatives of foreign and domestic mining companies received their mandates to observe the exhibition.

Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry D.Sumyabazar sent a message to the participants of the expo. In his message he mentioned that following the mining industry, construction, transportation and energy sectors are growing rapidly. "I attach importance to realization of projects and programs that can generate value-added products and increase employment and expand the economy. To do so, we will openly cooperate with companies and investors and work to strengthen public-private partnership. Mining is a vulnerable sector, which is based on social support and investor's confidence. Therefore, we make efforts to properly define goals of mining sector and implement a policy that will provide a stable legal environment to in the sector," said Minister D.Sumyabazar.
Mining sector of Mongolia makes up 90 percent of Mongolia's export, 77 percent of industrial products, 22 percent of Gross Domestic Product and 64 percent of the foreign investment alone.
‘Mongolia Mining 2018’ exhibition will run through April 6, 2018.
