Illegal land licenses in Khalkhyn Gol region to be cancelled

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its meeting on April 25, the Cabinet dismissed the unit in charge of the Khalkhyn Gol project, as the term of  the project which has completed.

The corresponding Minister was assigned to annul illegal decisions to issue land licenses in the area of Khalkhyn Gol region, where the land was designated for special state needs to utilize it for  national infrastructure development.

The previous administration had issued land licenses to 24 entities, covering 317 thousand ha of land, which has been found illegal by an audit. It was also revealed that the former Governors and the deputy Governors of Khalkhyn Gol soum had issued illegal land permits in the area.

Within the Khalkhyn Gol Project, the Korea International Cooperation Agency had agreed to commission a model farm combining animal husbandry and land farming within three years.

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry plans to develop the model farming as a research, training and  industrial center for intensified animal husbandry and modern land farming.
