Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/New Yarmag flyover opens to traffic

New Yarmag flyover officially put into operation on November 2. The new flyover ramp has the length of 250.2 meter and width of 20.5 meter. D-Ramp or concrete pavement which interconnects the Yarmag road on the back of the Bogd Mountain road has the length of 276 meter and width of 8.5 meter.


In his speech, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold expressed gratitude to construction workers, engineers, technicians and project coordinators on behalf of the citizens of the capital city. The flyover will play a significant role to connect a new apartment towns and building of the Governor’s Office being built in Yarmag, as well as New Ulaanbaatar International Airport to the city center.




Commercial and Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of China in Mongolia Sun Weiren highlighted, “We are giving a 100-year guarantee for the road quality, which built with the financing of USD 30 million from the Government of People’s Republic of China. Our side will be in charge of the road maintenance work for the first year, then the Capital City Department of Road Development will take the charge of the maintenance work. He also said that the Chinese Government will collaborate with the Mongolian Government in many projects such as the construction work of 20.9 km long auto road project en route Nalaikh, redevelopment of ger district and so forth.


The Governor’s Office of the Capital city and the Capital city Department of Road Development worked as the project clients, while Chinese leading road and construction company ‘China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation’ as the contractor, and Mongolia-German joint company ‘SPR Engineer Consulting Mongolia’ LLC as the project consultant.


The ceremony was attended by Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and Governor of Capital city S.Batbold, Chairman of the Citizens’ Representative Meeting of the Capital city S.Amarsaikhan, Commercial and Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of China in Mongolia Sun Weiren,  Director of the Capital city Department of Road Development J.Togtokhbayar, representatives from the project contractors and other officials.
