‘Bakula Rinpoche’ postage stamp unveiled

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The first day of issue of the ‘Bakula Rinpoche’ postage stamp took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.


Bakula Rinpoche served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia from 1990 to 2000 and made a valuable contribution to laying a solid foundation for modern Mongolian-Indian relations.


Based on common values ​​such as historical and cultural ties, free democratic society, and regional and international peace and stability, Mongolia-India relations and cooperation have been steadily developing and supporting each other at the level of the Strategic Partnership.


On this thematic stamp, Bakula Rinpoche is depicted sitting on a reclining table drawn by the Buddhist artist B.Purevbat, holding a bell and a vajra.


The event was attended by Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs N.Ankhbayar, former President of Mongolia N.Enkhbayar, Hamba Lama of Gandantegchinlen Monastery D.Choijamts, Minister of Law and Justice of the Republic of India Kiren Rijuju, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia M.P. Singh.
