According to the decadal field snow-depth monitoring conducted by the meteorological authorities, as of December 20, snow cover has been recorded across 79 percent of the country. Of this, snow depth exceeding 20 centimeters has been observed in the following soums: Khovd, Bukhmurun, Tsagaankhairkhan, Malchin, Khovd-Altai and Uench of Uvs aimag; Tsagaannuur, Ulaan-Uul, Tsagaan-Uur and Tsetserleg of Khuvsgul aimag; Guchin-Us of Uvurkhangai aimag; Rashaant, Dashinchilen and Bayannuur of Bulgan aimag; Yeroo, Tushig, Orkhontuul, Khuder and Mandal of Selenge aimag; Sharyn Gol and Khongor of Darkhan-Uul aimag; and Erdene soum of Tov aimag.
In accordance with Government Resolution No. 286, an assessment of dzud conditions indicates that Tsetserleg of Khuvsgul aimag, Rashaant of Bulgan aimag, Bayangol and Guchin-Us of Uvurkhangai aimag, Orkhontuul of Selenge aimag, and Sharyn Gol and Khongor of Darkhan-Uul aimag are currently experiencing dzud, with the number of affected areas expected to increase.
Furthermore, due to unfavorable summer pasture conditions and low vegetation productivity, special attention will be given to Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd, and Uvs aimags, where 8.1 million livestock are expected to overwinter and spring. Additionally, Selenge, Darkhan-Uul, and Tov aimags, where 6.2 million livestock are expected to overwinter and spring, will also receive special attention.
