Ulaanbaatar, April 27, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The Bank of Mongolia has officially launched its Student Trainer-Teacher program aimed at improving the financial and economic literacy of students and young people, while promoting financial education through peer-to-peer learning methods.
The
program includes around 200 students from more than 20 universities and higher
education institutions, regardless of their field of study. Participants will
gain foundational knowledge in finance and economics, receive training in
teaching methodology, and later share their knowledge and information with
fellow students at their own schools.
At
the opening ceremony, Telmuunsaikhan M., Director of the Financial Education
and Communications Department of the Bank of Mongolia, introduced the
objectives and implementation of the program. The first training session was
led by Battuul D, Senior Economist of the department, who delivered an
introductory lecture on the central bank’s core functions, internal
organization of the training, and methodology. More than 100 students attended
and took part in active discussions.
The program
will be conducted in stages through both in-person and online formats,
combining theory and practice. In addition to expanding their financial
knowledge, participants will have opportunities to develop presentation,
communication, and teamwork skills, while gaining practical experience. They
will also receive a basic understanding of the central bank’s operations,
monetary policy, budgeting, personal financial management, investment, and the
business environment.
