Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Due to 4,815 disasters and accidents occurred in the first ten months of this year, 175 people died, 163.9 thousand heads of livestock and animals were lost. There were 4,007 construction fires and 153 cases of rabies.

The damage caused by the forest fires amounted to MNT 35.5 billion, by construction fires--to MNT 10.4 billion, by heavy snowfalls and severe storms--to MNT 5.3 billion, by rabies—to MNT 56.7 million. A total expenditure for disasters and accidents reached MNT 682.4 million.

In the first ten months of this year, 92 people died from drowning in rivers and lakes, 47 people--in  construction fires, 18 people--in artisanal mining and rock falls, three people--in severe storms, two people--in cold rain and plague, slug firearms accidents respectively. The number of disaster and accidents increased in the ten months of this year by 904 against the previous year.
