Heirs to intangible cultural heritages to be granted cash prize

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the regular meeting of cabinet held on March 7, a hundred million MNT will be reflected in the annual State Budget, from 2017 on, to be dedicated to granting special cash prizes. The prizes will go to citizens, who are heirs to valued intangible cultural heritages and made great contributions to safeguarding, advertizing and immortalizing them.

As Mongolia has been adapting to impacts of rapid globalization, the traditional way of life, Mongolian language, and other unique cultural assets of Mongolian minorities have been affected by modern public arts and culture followed by a threat of extinction.

A regulation is being approved in order promote the heirs to the threatened intangible heritages.
