E.Ankhbayar selected as one of 20 singers to compete in BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2021

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Honored Artist, soloist of the State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, baritone E.Ankhbayar has been selected to participate in BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2021 competition.
The BBC Cardiff officially announced that the 20th edition of
the competition would be held on June 12-19, 2021. Due to the current
situation, contestants had been selected in a virtual form.
A total of 518 opera singers from 74 countries have
submitted their applications to the competition this year. Of them, 16 best opera
singers of 15 countries have been selected, including State Honored Artist
E.Ankhbayar.
In 2015, Mongolian opera singers led by State Honored Artist
E.Amartuvshin first participated in this prestigious competition, at which they
were awarded the audience prize and selected as one of the five finalists.
In 2017, State Honored Artist G.Ariunbaatar and Meritorious Cultural Worker B.Batjargal were included in 20 best opera singers, and G.Ariunbaatar was also selected as one of the five finalists of the competition, winning the Romance category.
Furthermore, Meritorious Cultural Worker Ch.Badral was named
one of the final 19 for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2019
competition.
