UNICEF donates low-cost air quality monitoring devicesSociety
Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The international day of ‘Clean Air
for Blue Skies’ is celebrated every year on September 7.
In the lead up to this day, UNICEF Representative to Mongolia, Evariste Kouassi-Komlan met with the Minister of Environment and Tourism, B. Bat-Erdene, to discuss work progress on reducing air pollution and strengthening air quality monitoring. UNICEF Representative handed over low-cost air quality monitoring devices to be installed in kindergartens in Songinokhairkhan and Bayanzurkh districts.
UNICEF Mongolia, in collaboration with MET and NAMEM, implements various projects related to air pollution mitigation as installing indoor air quality monitoring devices in kindergartens, developing air pollution prediction models, measuring particulate matter (PM) 2.5, installing CHIP (cooking, heating, and insulation products) in gers, and making green loans accessible.
