Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The International Civil Aviation
Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations, held its Assembly
41st Session in Montreal from September 27 to October 7, 2022.
Mongolian Delegation led by Ya.
Ariunbold, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to
Canada and the Permanent Representative of the ICAO, was attending the 41st
Session of the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization and
presented the Working paper WP/61 titled “Improving air connectivity in
Land-locked Developing Countries.” The Assembly discussed and widely supported
this paper, co-sponsored by Armenia and Ethiopia.
Once the Assembly approves the Working
Paper, ICAO will able to conduct an Aviation Needs Analysis Study of the 32
LLDCs to understand better the nature and extent of the challenges faced by
these countries, explore funding opportunities under ICAO resource mobilization
and offer necessary technical and capacity building assistance to help LLDCs.
ICAO’s 193 member states and
international organizations convene once in three years to establish the
worldwide policy of the Organization for the upcoming triennium.
