Asian Development Bank to invest in vocational and higher education

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Asian Development Bank (ADB) plans to invest in vocational and higher education. ADB Country Director for Mongolia, Yolanda Fernandez Lommen said “Since 1991, the ADB has implemented multiple education projects and programs. These programs are considered as having been implemented effectively. We are planning to invest in vocational and higher education in the future. We will also develop projects and programs for the vulnerable people and focus on disabled children.”

On February 27, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports (MECSSA) held a consultative meeting with its foreign partners to discuss all  implemented and  planned projects, programs and activities in the sector and Ms.Yolanda Fernandez Lommen made the abovementioned speech there.
 
“JICA has been investing in Mongolia’s education institutions since 2002. We are planning  to construct four new schools. The 1000 engineers project is being implemented in cooperation with MUST. Lately we are focusing on education of disabled people. In order to improve the disabled people’s social participation, we need to focus on their education from childhood” said Chief Representative of JICA Mongolia Office, Mutsumi Sato.
