Ulaanbaatar, August 21, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of the Republic of Slovenia H.E. Nataša Pirc Musar attended the Mongolia-Slovenia Business Forum held at the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia on August 21, 2024.

Opening the Forum, President Nataša Pirc Musar stated that her State Visit to Mongolia aims at strengthening the political and business cooperation between the two countries as well as between Mongolia and the European Union. 

“ I would gladly note that the representatives of the best companies in our country are attending this Forum. Among these companies, which actively operate globally, some are already operating here in Mongolia. Moreover, the Executive Manager of Strategic Development and Internationalisation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and representatives from the Industry, Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation Directorate of Slovenia are participating in the Forum. One of the important steps in deepening cooperation is forming a transparent and trustworthy business environment. I am confident that the enterprises and companies of the two countries recognize this Forum as a vital opportunity for cooperation.” underscored the President of the Republic of Slovenia.

MNCCI CEO Duuren Tumenjargal highlighted the need to cooperate with Slovenia in innovation and new technologies. CEO Duuren said, "Slovenia is similar to our country, it has a small population. It is one of the fastest developing countries. In doing so, the government allowed the private sector greater economic freedom. Trade between Mongolia and Slovenia is less than USD 30 million, which is not sufficient and we want to increase it. this country focuses on innovation and new technologies. Therefore, the chambers of the two countries should work together in this direction."

"At a time when the world is aiming to use artificial intelligence, it is important to pay attention to the use of artificial intelligence in human resources. In addition, Slovenia has decided to spend 3.5 percent of its gross domestic product to finance innovation and new technology research. Slovenia has provided the opportunity to travel visa-free for official passport holders of Mongolia or green passport holders. Green passports were issued to the top three managers of Mongolia's top 100 companies, giving impetus to expand business relations,” noted CEO Duuren.

Slovenian companies operating in pharmaceutics, tourism, social protection, marketing, agriculture, forestation, forestry equipment, recycling, power grid, investment, and business development fields took part in the Business Forum, holding meetings with Mongolian companies and exchanging views on cooperation and investments.
