SocietyUlaanbaatar, December 3, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Acting State Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Communications of Mongolia Altan-Od Pushaa received Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Mongolia Adiya Oyungerel and Director of Policy and Advocacy Gerelchuluun Iderchuluun.
Acting State Secretary Altan-Od informed, “Having formed its new Parliament and Joint Government in 2024, Mongolia is formulating a four-year plan and innovation policy strategy. The Government of Mongolia is putting emphasis on innovation and utilizing artificial intelligence in digitizing public services and processing data. A Working Group for the development of a communication strategy was commissioned. We are currently conducting research on developing an ethical artificial intelligence policy based on the basic documents of the United Nations. For instance, Estonia, having developed its strategy on artificial intelligence since 1990, has updated the strategy every two years to reach its current stage. Studying Estonia’s experiences, Mongolia has introduced the E-Mongolia platform and developed a mobile application, serving more than 2 million citizens. In the future, the Ministry plans to create and develop data based on artificial intelligence, focusing on the quality of digitizing public services. The Ministry will support the digital economy in line with its policy.”
Furthermore, AmCham Executive Director Adiya emphasized, “The American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia is responsible for expanding and strengthening business partnerships between the United States and Mongolia, protecting their interests and attracting American investments to Mongolia. This year, our organization published a policy document on the development of artificial intelligence. In this regard, the AmCham in Mongolia is focusing on connecting entrepreneurs of the United States and Mongolia, in particular, expanding relations between technology companies.” He expressed AmCham’s aim to further cooperate with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Communications of Mongolia.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia is an official branch of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, which is considered the largest business organization in the world with over 3 million members.
