In Ulaanbaatar:
August 18: The National Statistics Office (NSO) will hold a press conference to present Mongolia’s economic and social indicators for July 2025.
August 18: The “Mongolia–Japan International Business Innovation Forum” will be held at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
August 18: The Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet (MSATOB) will hold a press conference to provide current updates and sign memorandums of cooperation with domestic and foreign partners for its 62nd season.
August 18: Online registration for preschool education in Ulaanbaatar via the “E-Mongolia” system will close.
August 18: Ulaanbaatar will host the “Grand Slam” Judo Tournament for the third time.
August 18: Representatives of approximately 300 citizens are expected to present complaints against the CEO of Thermal Power Plant No. 4 State-Owned Joint Stock Company (JSC), U. Tumurkhuyag, alleging usury and concealment of income, and will submit their demand to the Minister of Energy, Choijilsuren Battogtokh.
August 19: A press conference on the World Women Entrepreneurs Forum (WWEF) scheduled for August 25–26 under the auspices of the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
August 19: World Photography Day, honoring the art, science, and history of photography, and World Humanitarian Day, commemorating those working to ensure the safety of humanitarian operations.
August 19-20: The 16th Annual International Conference of the International Society for Korean Studies will be held under the theme “A Multipolar World and Korean Studies.”
August 19–23: At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongsavanh Phomvihane will pay an official visit to Mongolia.
August 20: The regular meeting of the Government of Mongolia will be held.
August 20: World Mosquito Day, observed in commemoration of the discovery that mosquitoes transmit malaria and other diseases.
August 21: The international academic conference “The End of World War II: Research on the History of the Liberation War” will be held at the Mongolian National Defense University.
August 21: The joint art exhibition “Infinite Surroundings” will open at the “NM” Tower.
August 21–23: “The 17th World Horseback Archery Championship” will take place at the foot of Taij Khairkhan Mountain in Nalaikh District.
August 20–22: The 10th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Forum for East Asia–Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) will convene in Ulaanbaatar.
August 22: The launch event to introduce the seventh generation of renewable energy technology in Mongolia and to announce green finance products will take place at the Bank of Mongolia.
August 22–24: The “Ulaanbaatar Walking Festival 2025” will be organized in the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park.
August 22–24: The “Nomadic World Cultural Festival-2025” will be held at the foot of Taij Khairkhan Mountain in Nalaikh District as part of the “Visit Mongolia” year.
August 22–26: The international robotics competition “ABU Robocon 2025” will be hosted in Ulaanbaatar city.
August 24: The Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Mongolia, will organize the “Mongolia–Vietnam Business Meeting.”
August 10–October 15: Vehicles entering the Capital city will be inspected at transport checkpoints as a preventive measure against plague.
The “Oros Bayar” exhibition will continue at the Mongolian Art Gallery until August 25.
Online registration for 1st-grade enrollment at public schools for the 2025–2026 academic year continues until August 26.
Back-to-school trade fairs are being held at 19 locations across the nine districts.
The extended “Golden Autumn-2025” potato and vegetable fair continues at 21 locations in all nine districts of Ulaanbaatar.
The special exhibition “Mongol Avdar” is open to the public at the National Museum of Mongolia until the end of August.
Local Events:
August 24: The National Senior Volleyball Championship in honor of Baatarkhuree Lkhamjav, coach of the “Hasu Megastars” Volleyball Club of the Mongolian Premier League, teacher at the 84th of General Education, and International Master of Sports, will conclude in Bulgan soum, Khovd aimag.
