A three-day consultative meeting of special protected area administrations is taking place at the Shangri-La Hotel from 3–5 December 2025. Over 200 representatives from the ministry’s affiliated agencies, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, the General Authority for Land Administration, Surveying and Cartography, special protected area administrations, projects, programs, international organizations, NGOs, and local communities are participating.

Ulaanbaatar Metro Construction to Commence in 2026
Construction of the Ulaanbaatar Metro, an urban transport project aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the city center, is set to begin in 2026. The line will extend 19.4 kilometers along Enkhtaivan Avenue, the city’s busiest corridor, running from Tolgoit to Amgalan. It will feature 15 stations - 14 underground and 1 above ground - with a design capacity of 17,200 passengers per hour.
