Bill on Legal Status of Mongolian Red Cross submitted
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Speaker Z.Enkhbold received Friday a bill on Legal Status of the Mongolian Red Cross (MRC) from N.Enkhbold, D.Battsogt and G.Bayarsaikhan.
The bill comprises 4 sections and 15 articles, suggesting major change to the Law on Legal Status of the Mongolian Red Cross, adopted in 2000. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross has given Mongolia a recommendation to improve the legal status of the MRC, to change the status of “national society” as “national humanitarian society”, and to reflect in the bill the forms cooperation with the state and local administrations.
By making such clarifications, the Mongolian Red Cross will become distinct from other non-governmental organizations by executing some policy measures taken by the Government.
