“Wolf Totem” novel’s Mongolian script version released

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony for introducing the Mongolian script version of the famous Chinese novel “Wolf Totem” by Jiang Rong is being held August 3 at the Puppet Theatre of Ulaanbaatar.

The author of the novel, which is a 2004 semi-autobiographical novel about a Chinese student who was sent in 1967 to Inner Mongolia region of the PRC at the peak of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, Mr Lu Jiamin, who goes by a pseudonym Jiang Rong, was handed today the “Writing Genius” award by the World Mongol Authors Association.

Jiang Rong attended the ceremony with his friend painter Chen Zhi Tsun, a real life character from the Wolf Totem and an active environmentalist of Inner Mongolia.

The film adaptation of the novel was released in Mongolia last February. Mongolian actress R.Ankhnyam played in the film the role of Galsmaa, one of the main characters in the Novel who represents the bravery of Mongolia women.
