Mongolia and Russia to boost their strategic partnership
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ After a start of the official visit of the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr S.V.Lavrov to Mongolia, official talks were held on Thursday between the two Foreign Ministers.
During the talks, which ran in a friendly atmosphere, the Foreign Ministers noted that the Mongolia-Russia strategic partnership relations have been boosting and that high level talks have been regularizing. They also shared views on the bilateral cooperation in trade, economy and humanity, on international and regional cooperation.
The Ministers noted that this visit is coinciding with the 95th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations. Mr Purevsuren thanked the Russian side for resolving financial responsibilities of Mongolia to Russia, and said new opportunities have opened for the cooperation in credit and financial areas.
Following the talks, the two FMs inked a middle-term programme on developing the Mongolia-Russia strategic partnership.
The Russian side expressed a satisfaction with concluding the middle-term programme and promised to make huge efforts to fulfill it. This document will enable the two countries to forward their mutually-beneficial cooperation and will open new opportunities, Mr Lavrov said, adding that their side will render support Mongolia in hosting the 11th ASEM Summit in Ulaanbaatar.
The parties said they are happy with the development of the Mongolia-Russia-China trilateral cooperation and affirmed that the three countries are working on establishing a programme on creating an economic corridor, at a meeting scheduled this year.
