TV channels broadcast grand opening of road construction nationwide
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Grand construction works of roads and bridges started Monday at the same time nationwide. The opening was broadcasted live by the MNB (Mongolian national broadcaster), TV9, MNC, ETV and Eagle TV channels.
Mongolia had built 2,964 kilometers of auto roads in total, between 1921 and 2012. In the last three years, Mongolia built 3,405 km roads connecting aimags' centers to the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, said the Ch.Saikhanbileg PM.
In 2013 and 2014, centers of Dornogovi, Dundgovi, Bayankhongor, Omnogovi, Khovsgol and Sukhbaatar were connected to Ulaanbaatar by the auto roads. Today’s event is the opening of construction for 1,538 kilometers of the roads to connect centers of Dornod, Govi-Altai, Zavkhan, Khovd, Bayan-Olgii and Uvs aimags to Ulaanbaatar.
The construction is to be executed on the financing from public and private sectors (concessions), foreign credits and loan from the Development Bank of Mongolia.
