ASEM Senior Officials' Meeting commences

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ ASEM Senior Officials meeting (ASEM SOM) 2016 began Tuesday in Ulaanbaatar.

The ASEM SOM is being attended by over 220 representatives from 51 ASEM partners, the European Union, the ASEAN Secretariat and the Asia-Europe Foundation.

D.Gankhuyag, the State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and chair of the ASEM preparation commission made the opening remarks, noting that sideline meetings of the 11th ASEM Summit are being held successfully, and then gave details on the ASEM Summit preparation works.

The ASEM SOM is carrying out discussions on the Ulaanbaatar Declaration and the Statement of the ASEM Summit’s Chairman to be released by the forthcoming Summit. The attendees intend to reach a general position over the draft documents.
